Ramen Shodai (らーめん初代), the Very Popular Ramen Restaurant with Locals in Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan!

On Apr. 22, 2018, after my friends and I walked a stroll around Sakaimachi Commercial Drive, Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan that afternoon, one of my friend and I visited Ramen Shodai (らーめん初代), the very popular ramen restaurant with local outside tourist hot spots.

My friend and I ordered a bowl of soy sauce ramen at 800 JPY (= 7.29 USD) respectively. It was shame that the rice ball with BBQ pork and mayonnaise was sold out.

Besides the menu in Japanese, here was also the menu in multi-languages.

The customers here were most of locals in Otaru. But it was about time to close, so the customers here were less than my expectation.

After a while, our ramen appeared on our table!

There was a thin layer of lard on the soup helping the whole ramen keep hot!

The lard layer was also matched with the soy sauce and seafood broth very well. It was really tasty!

The BBQ pork looked thin but quite tender.

The yellow egg noodles was al dente! And the noodles and soup were perfectly combined!

After enjoying our ramen, we walked slowly back to our hotel that day, Dormy Inn Premium Otaru to take some rest in its hot spring bath and then enjoy its night snack, Dormy Inn's soy sauce ramen!
