Bai-Shui Tofu Pudding (白水豆花), the Super Popular Tofu Pudding on Yongkang Street, Taipei, Taiwan

At noon of Nov. 6, 2019, my friends and I had a happy lunch in Taipei, Taiwan, we walked to Yongkang Street near MRT Dongmen Station to line up for the quite popular tofu pudding stand, Bai-Shui Tofu Pudding (白水豆花).

Because here were so many people but only a few seats, it took us some time to queue.

The basic tofu pudding, only topped with maltose syrup and peanut powder, was at 60 TWD (= 1.97 USD). Additional toppings were tapioca pears (粉圓) at 5 TWD (= 0.16 USD) or peach resin (桃膠) at 10 TWD (= 0.33 USD).

Peach resin is a kind of semi-transparent traditional herbal medicines.

My friends and I all ordered the tofu pudding with maltose, peanut powder, tapioca pearls and peach resin at 75 TWD (= 2.46 USD). As soon as we placed our orders, the seats here also became available!

The golden and black bowl contained the tofu pudding. It looked so high-quality. Its photo was good to upload on Instagram!

The tofu pudding was almost fully topped with peanut powder, tapioca pearls and peach resin. A handful of parsley was, too!

The texture of tofu pudding was delicate and fluffy with soybean aroma. The semi-transparent peach resin tasted a little crispy! It was wonderful Taiwanese dessert for tea time with the al dente but slightly hard tapioca, sweet maltose syrup and fragrant peanut powder!

Although it took us a long while to queue, I still thought it was absolutely worth a try!
