Chicken Power Ramen (激勵軒), Serving the Delicious and Unique Chicken Ramen with Wagyu Beef in Taichung, Taiwan


On Sep. 24, 2020 was the 2nd day of the journey when my friend and I travelled around Taiwan by public bike and railway. That morning we rode the public bikes, Youbikes, to Miaoli Station (苗栗車站) from Zhunan, Miaoli. In the afternoon, we got on the train to Tai-An Station (泰安車站), Taichung and then rode Youbikes to Downtown Taichung.


That evening we headed to Chicken Power Ramen (激勵軒) on Shude Rd. (樹德路), Taiping (太平), Taichung by public bike for dinner. It was a ramen restaurant which focused on rich chicken ramen!


Here were not many customers at 20:00. We could directly enter the restaurant and have our seats.


After taking a look at the menu, I faced the dilemma of chicken man soup (雞白湯男湯) or vegetable chicken puree (野菜雞泥濃湯) ramen.


My final decision was the chicken man soup ramen (雞白湯男湯拉麵) at 240 TWD (= 8.36 USD). I also paid the additional 30 TWD (= 1.04 USD) to exchange the sliced sous vide chicken for the wagyu beef slices.


Besides the ramen, I ordered a bowl of sous vide beef and chicken rice (牛雞叉燒飯) at 70 TWD (= 2.44 USD). After I checked in on its fan page, I could just spend 10 TWD (= 0.35 USD) on the soft-boiled egg!


After a while, my dishes were all served!


Besides the sous vide beef and chicken, the sous vide beef and chicken rice (牛雞叉燒飯) was also topped with the scallions and red onions. Its sauce was the honey mustard rather then the common Japanese mayonnaise.


Overall speaking, its tasted was OK, but it was slightly cooler when it was just served. I also preferred to enjoyed the rice after finishing the ramen.


The egg yolk of soft-boiled eggs stroke a good balance! It was still runny! Moreover, its wine aroma was obvious and mouth-watering!


The toppings, wagyu beef slices, looked pink on the chicken man soup ramen with wagyu beef slices. The edges of beef slices were slightly grilled. The toppings also included the half soft-boiled egg, pumpkin, red onion and dried bamboo shoots.


The pink Austrian wagyu beef slices was topped with the cumin powder. The beef slices were quite tender with the cumin aroma. To keep the beef tender and avoid overheating, my suggestion was to put the rest beef slices on the edge of the bowl!


The noodles were flat and wide. The texture was al dente! For me, I loved the noodles so much!


The golden chicken soup tasted rich and smooth. With the fresh minced red onions, the soup tasted even fresher and sweeter!


The extra noodles was free for the 1st time at Chicken Power Ramen (激勵軒). The extra noodles were only thin noodles at common ramen restaurant, but customers could get the initially flatter and wide noodles at chicken Power Ramen (激勵軒)!


Customers had to use their ramen bowl to contain the extra noodles at Chicken Power Ramen (激勵軒), but most of ramen restaurants would use the additional bowl. I was just a little surprised.

After finishing the tasty and special chicken ramen with wagyu beef slices, we rode the public bikes, Youbike, to Hanxi Night Market (旱溪夜市), Taichung. After that, we went back to the hotel neat Taichung Station, Taichung, and the journey of the day was ended.
