Urn-In-Urn Crockpot Soup (甕中甕瓦罐煨湯), Serving the Healthy and Mild Crockpot Chicken Soup in Banqiao, New Taipei, Taiwan!

On Jun. 13, 2020, my friend and I would like to have dinner together in Banqiao, New Taipei, Taiwan. I rode the public shared bike to Yumin Street Night Market (裕民街夜市). The restaurant we visited was Urn-In-Urn Crockpot Soup (甕中甕瓦罐煨湯). The nearest MRT station was MRT Xinpu Minsheng Station (捷運新埔民生站).

Here were very large ceramic urns at its entrance. It seemed like they were prepared to heat the soup.

The indoor designs were just simple, and the seats were not many.

The signatures at Urn-In-Urn Crockpot Soup (甕中甕瓦罐煨湯) were the crockpot soup. Here were also rice, noodles and side dishes.

Each kind of crockpot soups was limited. Customers had to make sure what kind of crock soups was available.

That day I ordered the crockpot chicken soup with poplar mushrooms (茶樹菇雞肉煨湯) at 80 TWD (= 2.70 USD) per bowl.

Besides the soup, I ordered a small bowl of lard rice (豬油拌飯) at 15 TWD (= 0.51 USD).

My friend ordered a bowl of crockpot chicken soup with almond mushrooms (巴西蘑菇雞煨湯) at 120 TWD (= 4.05 USD) and a large bowl of braised pork rice (滷肉飯) at 40 TWD (= 1.35 USD).

We also shared a dish of braised tofu (油豆腐) at 10 TWD (= 0.34 USD) with each other.

The braised tofu tasted good with the aroma of braised sauce.

The rice of lard rice was so grainy but still slightly sticky. I loved its texture so much! With the good-smelling lard and thick soy sauce, the lard rice was very satisfying to me!

My crockpot chicken soup with poplar mushrooms (茶樹菇雞肉煨湯) was contained in the small urn. The urn could keep my soup warm very well! The soup tasted very mild with the aroma of chicken and medicine herbs.

The ingredients, poplar mushrooms and chicken, were full of the soup in urn!

The chicken was tender with the aroma of soup! It was very fantastic!

Personally speaking, I think the crockpot soup at Urn-In-Urn Crockpot Soup (甕中甕瓦罐煨湯) is not only heavenly but also quite unique!
