Katsuo (勝王), Serving the Rich, Smooth and Scrumptious Sasso Chicken Ramen in Taipei, Taiwan!

In the evening of Apr. 5, 2020, my friends and I headed to Katsuo (勝王) Ramen Restaurant near MRT Zhongshan Station, Taipei, Taiwan together.

We arrived here roughly at 17:15. It was still before the dinner time, but the seats inside the restaurant were all occupied by customers. Additionally, some customers were queueing outdoors.

The minimum here was a bowl of ramen per customer. No photos except about ramen were allowed. Customers could start to queue after their companions all arrived. Cutting the line was not allowed.

The menu that day was the following:

We all ordered the rich Sasso chicken ramen with the handmade noodles (薩索雞白湯手揉麵) at 260 TWD (= 859 USD) per bowl. By the way, besides the cash, the mobile payment, JKOPay, was also accepted!

After we all had our seat, soon our rich Sasso chicken ramen with the handmade noodles (薩索雞白湯手揉麵) we were all looking forward to were served!

The toppings on the ramen looked simple but beautiful!

The seasonings were the minuza (水菜) and shredded turnips (蘿蔔絲). The shredded turnips were topped with the pomelo skin.

The toppings were mixed well in the rich chicken soup. After that, the good-smelling and smooth rich chicken soup became more delicious and fantastic!

The sliced BBQ pork was so tender like melting in my mouth. The sliced BBQ pork was very good!

The thing which amazed us the most was exactly Katsuo's unique signature, handmade noodles (手揉麵).

The handmade noodles looked wide and flat, and its texture was so al dente! Additionally, its ability to absorb the soup was ver good! With the mouth-watering rich chicken soup, the handmade noodles were so scrumptious!

Customers could get an additional bowl of noodles for free! But the additionally noodles were only thin noodles.

The texture of thin noodles was a little firm. The thin noodles were also good! But personally speaking, I preferred the handmade noodles to the thin noodles because the handmade noodles could absorb the soup better!

After we finished the fantastic ramen, I was so satisfied with the portion and quality! And then we walked to the I-Mei supermarket to buy the soft ice cream for dessert. After that, we took a stroll in Zhongshan Metro Shopping Mall (中山地下街)!
