Mikami Curry (三上咖哩), the Comfortable Restaurant Serving Its High-Quality Japanese Curry Rice in Taipei, Taiwan!
At noon of Sep. 1, 2019, my friends and I met at MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Taipei, Taiwan. We headed to Mikami Curry (三上咖哩) for lunch nearby together!
Its indoor designs looked stylish, and its environment seemed pretty comfortable.
After we had our seats, we took a look at the menu and prepared to place our order!
Besides its super heavy curry (巨無霸咖哩) for the big eater challenge, it also served the regular curry rice for common customers.
Besides the curry, it also served various deep-fried food! I heard that the fried chicken here were scrumptious!
After we made a decision, we bought our own food ticket for ourselves at the ticket machine near the entrance.
Here was a bag of green kuai kuai (乖乖, the Taiwanese famous snack) on the machine. It was often seen in Taiwan's Technology Industry. Its main purpose was to pray for machines working successfully.
Customers could get a free candy by beating the drum before placing an order.
Because it was our 1st time to visit Mikami Curry (三上咖哩), I decided to ordered its signature, the mixed curry rice, at 300 TWD (= 9.7 USD).
After placing our orders, we headed back to our seats and waited. We saw Mikami Curry's cute comics about the way to enjoy the curry and fried chicken here.
The 1st dish was the fried chicken we shared with each other. It was our 1st time to visit Mikami Curry (三上咖哩), so we ordered the smallest dish at 120 TWD (= 3.88 USD).
We squeezed some lemon onto the fried chicken. It tasted very good without any sauce. Its skin outside was thin and crispy, and its meat inside was fresh and juicy!
The fried chicken also tasted great with the seasonings and sauce!
It was quite matched with the Japanese mayonnaise.
The fried chicken was so fantastic that we strongly regretted only ordering the small dish of fried chicken!
One of my friends ordered the curry with the tomahawk chicken thigh chop at 300 TWD (= 9.7 USD). The chicken thigh was cooked in sous vide and then deep fried!
According my friend, the curry with tomahawk chicken was so heavenly! Especially, the deep fried sous-vided chicken thigh was very tender and juicy!
Another friend ordered the mixed curry rice as the same as mine at 300 TWD (= 9.7 USD), but he chose the slightly sweet curry sauce with a boiled egg.
However, I ordered the mixed curry rice with spicy curry sauce and various mouth-watering toppings!
The pretty bright and yellow egg yolk was topped on the rice.
Here were some slices of thick-cut bacon!
And the yummy ginger pork was also included.
Moreover, the crispy outside but tender inside chicken chops were in the bowl.
The minced pork was perfectly matched with the curry and rice!
The food materials were so various, and every topping tasted so great with the curry and rice!
Additionally, the extra rice here was free!
The creamy and sticky raw yolk was too hard to resist with the hot rice, curry and minced pork. I strongly recommended the combination!
After finishing the scrumptious curry rice, we kept staying at Mikami Curry (三上咖哩) to take rest.
At the moment, a brave customers would like to challenge the super heavy curry (巨無霸咖哩) at 500 TWD (= 16.17 USD) here. We were so curious that we stayed here longer to watch the challenge!
The super heavy curry (巨無霸咖哩) weighed 2.4 kg. It was so large portion! The big eater challenge was in 20 minutes.
It was a shame that this young challenger didn't finish its super heavy curry rice in his time. At last, he took out the rest of curry home.
Personally speaking, the quality of food at Mikami Curry (三上咖哩) was quite high. The environment and air condition here were also pretty comfortable. I thought it was a very good place to dine and chat with friends!

Probably because the prices here were slightly higher, customers here were less than I had expected. But considering its deliciousness and comfort, it was still worth visiting for me!
