Shikairou (四海樓), the Origin of Champon (ちゃんぽん), the Speciality of Nagasaki, Japan!

On Dec. 25, 2018, I visited the gorgeous Glover Garden in Nagasaki, Japan and enjoyed the beautiful sunset there! And then it was time for dinner!

That evening I went to Shikairou (四海樓), the restaurant looked luxurious and splendid. It had established since 1899. It was also the origin of Nagasaki's speciality, champon (ちゃんぽん).

The dining space in Shikairou (四海樓) was wide and comfortable.

Additionally, its location was pretty good. Customers here could enjoy the beautiful sea view of Nagasaki.

It was my 1st time to visit Shikairou (四海樓). Shikairou (四海樓) was the origin of champon (ちゃんぽん), Nagasaki's speciality, so I decided to order the champon (ちゃんぽん) at 1,080 JPY (= 10 USD).

The champon (ちゃんぽん) noodles was topped with shredded egg. Its color looked pretty attractive!

The other ingredients looked various under the shredded egg. Its portion also seemed large enough!

Its noodles looked thicker. It had a little al dente texture and absorbed some a little burnt and aromatic soup!

The milky soup tasted rich and good! But it didn't taste too oily!

The seafood in the bowl was really fresh. And the quantity was more than I expected!

After I enjoyed my dinner, it was already dark. Customers here were also more and more.

In fact, some celebrities in history also visited Shikairou (四海樓), for example, China's Sun Yat-sen.

Shikairou's champon entered Japan from Qing(清) roughly 100 years ago. It's similar to Fujian's braised noodles, but it still has its own style. Personally speaking, I think the champon noodles is fresh, large and tasty. It's absolutely worth your try!
