In the morning of Mar. 1, 2020, I headed to Downtown Taoyuan because of my friends' wedding. I seldom visited Downtown Taoyuan, so I decided to have breakfast together with another friend of mine at Jiufu Bao (九福包子) on the way to the wedding.
We saw the very long queueing at Jiufu Bao (九福包子). The long queueing consisted of takeout customers.
The customers for here just entered the restaurant and then directly had seats!
Here were also so many dine-in customers. Luckily, the table turnover rate here was so high, so the seats were soon available!
The breakfast here was quite affordable. The price of bao was 8 TWD (= 0.27 USD) each, and the price of iced soy milk was 12 TWD (= 0.4 USD) per cup.
I ordered a cup of iced soy milk. Customer could just take the iced soy milk from the refrigerator by themselves.
The servant here came to our table and queried how many bao we'd like to have. Here were 2 kinds of bao, pork bao and leek bao.
I ordered 3 pork bao and 2 leek bao totally at 40 TWD (= 1.33 USD).
Both pork bao and leek bao were fully stuffed!
I strongly recommended to enjoy the bao with the chili sauce and scallion soy sauce!
Scooping the more scallions and less soy sauce was a smarter option. I intentionally scooped too much soy sauce!
With the sauce, the bao looked more mouth-watering!
The stuffing of leek bao consisted of the leek, vermicelli and shredded egg. The leek aroma was so rich and good for leek lovers!
The stuffing of pork bao mainly based on pork. It tasted so fresh, juicy and heavenly!
The pork bao tasted much better with soy and chili sauce! My friend and I preferred the pork bao to the leek bao!
After finishing the affordable and satisfying breakfast, we walked to Mr. Brown's nearest branch and enjoyed the coffee. And then we rode the shared bikes to our friends' wedding!
