Kao's Siu Mei Restaurant (高記燒臘廚房), the Tasty Siu Mei near MRT Dapinglin Station, Xindian, New Taipei, Taiwan

In the evening of Aug. 17, 2019, my friend and I met near MRT Dapinglin Station, Xindian, New Taipei, Taiwan. We planned to have dinner at Kao's Siu Mei Restaurant (高記燒臘廚房).

In fact, it was not my first time to visit Kao's Siu Mei Restaurant (高記燒臘廚房). I had often eaten its bento when I went to the doctor at Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital several years ago. But I had no any photos then.

This time I planned to order Kao's signature (高記招牌飯) at 125 TWD (= 3.98 USD) or the tri-BBQ (三燒飯) at 100 TWD (= 3.19 USD), but they were both sold out because we arrived here too late! Then it only served BBQ pork (叉燒) and soy sauce chicken (油雞), so we could only order its combo of BBQ pork and soy sauce chicken (叉燒油雞飯) at 95 TWD (= 3.03 USD).

Personally speaking, the environment here looked even cleaner than at Taiwan's common siu mei restaurant.

Customers here got the sauce by themselves.

My favorite sauce with siu mei, Hong-Kong-styled BBQ, was exactly the scallion oil. It was salty, fragrant and appetizing with rice!

A few minutes later, my combo of of BBQ pork and soy sauce chicken (叉燒油雞飯) was served!

Its soy sauce chicken was smooth and tender!

The soy sauce chicken was perfectly matched with the scallion oil and rice! They tasted so great!

Personally speaking, the BBQ pork also tasted juicy tender, and also not too greasy!

Its stir-fried vegetables were still hot. Some siu mei restaurants in Taiwan only served cold and oily stir-fried vegetables. Several years ago, it served 2 different kinds of vegetables. Recently, it was a shame that one kind of vegetables was replaced by the corns.

Customers dining here could enjoy the extra rice for free!

The rice here was grainy and not too sticky like paste. It was quite matched with the scallion oil and the siu mei (燒臘, Hong-Kong-styled BBQ)! We both ordered the extra rice for once. We were so full!

After finishing, we took the bus to Ikea's Xindian branch. We planned to go window-shopping there for better digestive health.
