G2 Ramen (雞二拉麵), Serving the Limited Tasty Rich Chicken Ramen with Shrimp Paste Only in Afternoons in Taipei, Taiwan!
On Aug. 1, 2019, my friends and I went to the Comic Exhibition 2019 at Taipei World Trade Center, Taiwan. I mainly focused on FGO's booth. There were so many people in the exhibition, and lots of things and activities were worth watching. Therefore, we left for the restaurant for lunch from Taipei World Trade Center at 14:00.
Because here were not many restaurant still opening in the afternoon, we decided to headed to G2 Ramen's main store at MRT Xinyi Anhe Station.
It was still before 14:30 when we arrived. The restaurant only served its regular ramen.
After 14:30, the restaurant started to serve its special and limited rich chicken ramen. The quantity of ramen was only 30 bowls a day. Here were 2 kinds of ramens, rich chicken ramen with vegetables and shrimp paste. We all ordered the rich chicken ramen with shrimp paste (蝦醬雞白湯拉麵) at 219 TWD (= 6.99 USD) per bowl.
It was off-peak time in the afternoon. The customers here were less. After we had our seats, I drank lots of iced water because it was always very hot in Taipei in summers.
Here was a tutorial about enjoying the rich chicken ramen with shrimp paste on the table. The 1st phase was to try its original taste. The second phase was to mixed shrimp paste well in the chick soup. The last phase was to squeeze some lemon juice into the soup!
After a while, the rich chicken ramen with shrimp paste we were looking forward to was served. There was a large slice of romaine lettuce topped on the soup.
I couldn't help but pick up the sous vide chicken and try it at first!
The sous vide chicken tasted quite tender and juicy. The sliced chicken with the creamy and mild soup was fantastic!
The egg yolk of its soft-boiled egg was still perfectly runny!
Here was also a small shrimp as the icon on the ramen.
The original chicken soup tasted very fragrant, creamy, mild and smooth!
Its noodles was slightly firm and al dente. For me, I really loved the texture of noodles here so much!
Next, it was the turn of the other main ingredient, shrimp paste. I mixed the shrimp paste well in the rich chicken soup and tried the mixed soup carefully.
Besides the advantages of rich chicken soup, the shrimp paste brought the shrimp aroma, like the laksa from Southeast Asia. Personally speaking, I really loved the ramen in this phase so much!
I squeezing some lemon juice into the ramen, and then the ramen became slightly sourer and more fragrant due to the lemon.
The rich chicken ramen with shrimp was not only delicious but also in large portion. It made all of us so full! Additionally, its price was fairly reasonable! That would be the reason why it was always so popular with customers, especially ramen lovers!
