Big Tree House Ginseng Chicken (큰나무집 궁중약백숙), the Korean Traditional Gourmet near Yangnyeongsi Market, Daegu, South Korea!
On Sep. 19, 2018, after I visited Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, Daegu, South Korea in the morning, I walked Big Tree House Ginseng Chicken (큰나무집 궁중약백숙) nearby for lunch!
Besides the common chair seats, here were some traditional Korean seats.
The iced water was always available when dining in South Korea. I loved this service so much!
That day I ordered its signature, whole chicken soup with rice and medicine herbs, at 13,000 KRW (= 11.04 USD).
After a long while, the side dishes and main course were all served. The side dishes were as various as common traditional Korean cuisines.
Especially, its sour and sweet kimchi was so appetizing!
Moreover, here was a bowl of congee which seemed to absorbed the condensed chicken soup. The congee consisted of not only the chicken aroma but also lots of healthy herbs, like ginkgo, goji, ginseng, black sesame, jujube, and so on. It tasted so great!
The cooked chicken was extremely soft. I could easily debone the chicken by chopsticks.
The texture of chicken was pretty tender and juicy with the various aromas of herbs.
The soup here was less than common ginseng chicken soup, but the Korean gourmet was absolutely worth a try!
Besides enjoying the chicken directly, I also spooned a little salt onto a small dish.
The chicken dipped with a little salt made itself even more delicious. It's like putting the soul to an art!
Personally speaking, the whole chicken soup with rice and medicine herbs at Big Tree House Ginseng Chicken (큰나무집 궁중약백숙) is not only fantastic but also special! The side dishes here are pretty various but still too many for me to finish them all!
