Nikuzen (ニクゼン), the Restaurant Serving the Aromatic and Mouth-Watering Wagyu Steak Donburi in Fukuoka, Japan!
On Dec. 21, 2018, the 1st day of arrival in Fukuoka Japan from Busan, South Korea by ferry, I went to JR Hakata Station to exchange for my JR North Kyushu Pass after having a bountiful breakfast at Nagahama Fish Market. It was almost 11:00 after I got my JR pass. Therefore I headed to Nikezen (ニクゼン) near Akasaka Station, Fukuoka in a hurry.
I arrived at Nikuzen (ニクゼン) already at 11:30. Although the restaurant was just open, the queueing line had become pretty long!
Nikuzen (ニクゼン) was a BBQ restaurant specializing in A4 and A5 wagyu beef from Saga, Japan! But it also served the steak donburi (steak rice bowl) for a single customer during lunch time!
The long queueing showed how popular the affordable steal donburi was with customers!
Eventually it was my turn!
Obviously, the indoor designs were definitely for a BBQ restaurant. But the most of customers visited this restaurant for the steak donburi at noon.
The steak donburi here had two different options in size. The regular one was at 850 JPY (= 7.84 USD), including 150-gram steak and 300-gram rice; however, the special one was at 1,200 JPY (11.07 USD), including 300-gram steak and 700-gram rice!
No matter which one you order, a bowl of mild and appetizing soup was inclusive.
Because the special donburi was really too much for me, I finally decided to order the regular one!
At the arrival moment of my steak donburi, it was too hard to distract from it. It made my mouth full of water!
The pink wagyu steak with the home-made special sauce tasted not only salty and a little sweet but also tender like almost melting in my mouth!
Moreover, enjoying the superb steak with hot and delicious Japanese rice and the fresh shredded cabbage is really the impeccable combination!
After finishing the heavenly steak donburi, my iPhone faced the problem of low battery. Thus my next stop became the Don-Quijote Supermarket near Nishijin Station, and I decided to buy some grocery here.
