Udon Taira (うどん平), the Restaurant Serving Scrumptious Udon at an Affordable Price in Fukuoka, Japan!

On Sep. 14, 2018, the 1st of our university classmate reunion, we arrived in Fukuoka, Japan one by one from different places! I took the ferry from Busan, South Korea to Fukuoka, Japan. And one of my classmates arrived in Fukuoka at noon by plane! After we deposited our luggage at the hotel we were going to stay at, Hotel WBF Tenjinminami, we walked to Udon Taira (うどん平), the famous udon restaurant hidden in the small lane!

There were no customer queueing when we got to Udon Taira (うどん平). But it seemed that people started to queue after we entered the restaurant!

Udon Taira (うどん平) seemed very popular with locals in Fukuoka, Japan. All seats were occupied, and the customers here except us all spoke Japanese! We saw and heard that everyone here ordered Maruten(丸天) Udon or Burdock Root(牛蒡) Udon and Rice Balls! Therefore we followed everyone here and ordered Maruten Udon and Rice Balls!

We ordered the chicken rice balls because we saw them on most of customers's table. The rice ball was really delicious with pickled radish on side! Please don't miss the yummy rice ball!

Our main course, Maruten Udon was coming!

The smooth and mild soup with the fresh home-made udon noodles which was flatter than ordinary udon noodles were best combination ever! It really stroke a perfect equilibrium!

The thing on the udon noodle was just maruten (丸天), a round fish cake. It was fresh and yummy!

Udon Taira (うどん平) was really a good choice of affordable gourmet. We both ordered one bowl of maruten udon and one dish of chicken rice balls. They only cost us 550 JPY (= 4.84 USD) ea.

For the visitors who want to enjoy the gourmet at Udon Taira (うどん平), it's only open for 4 hours a day and a little far away from the underground stations in Fukuoka, Japan!
