Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや), Serving Akashiyaki(明石焼き), the Unique Speciality in Akashi, Hyogo, Japan!

On Aug. 29, 2017, the 2nd day of our trip to Kansai Area in Japan, the original itinerary was to visit Himeji Castle in the morning, but my friend and I got up late! We were afraid that we would miss the time when we had reserved for Kobe Beef. Finally we decided to only visit Akashi, Hyogo for Akashiyaki(明石焼き)

Akashi Station
It seemed that Akashi's signature was just Akashiyaki(明石焼き). We saw the advertisement when stepping out of the station.

Akashiyaki(明石焼き)
That made us look forward to it so much!

It took us only 10 minutes to walk south to Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや), our destination today, from Akashi Station.
從明石車站往南走個10分鐘就看了我們今天早上的主角

It had been established since 1924.

There were lots of stool in front of its entrance. It was quite friendly for the queuers! We entered Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや) soon because we got there when it was just open!

The interior decoration of Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや) looked so traditional, just like the old restaurant I saw in Japan's TV series.

There were only us when we had seats, but soon more and more customers came to the restaurant.

Akashiyaki @ Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや) in Akashi, Hyogo, Japan
We ordered 1 set of Akashiyaki, including 20 pieces. It cost us only JPY 850! Not expensive at all! And you could get the 100-yen-off coupon on its official website!

Akashiyaki, called tamagoyaki in Akashi Area, contained octopus inside, as the same as Takoyaki. But the styles of them were totally different!

Akashiyaki and its sauce
Akashiyaki was made of more eggs than Takoyaki. Therefore the texture of Akashiyaki was even fluffier. The aroma of egg was quite rich!

Honke Kimuraya(本家きむらや) also provided sauce and seasoning, like wasabi.

Akashiyaki in the scrumptious seafood broth
Personally speaking, of all the sauce and seasoning here, I recommended the seafood broth the most! The umami seafood broth made the fluffy texture of Akashiyaki perfect! It was too scrumptious to forget!

When visiting Himeji Castle or Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Kansai Area in Japan, why not come and experience Akashiyaki, the unique speciality, in Akashi, Hyogo, Japan? It's definitely worth a try!
