Jiayuxiang (佳裕香), Serving the Spicy and Numbing Gourmet Food, Maocai (冒菜) and Liangpi (涼皮), in Taipei, Taiwan!

In the afternoon of Jul. 1, 2020, it rained a lot in Taipei, Taiwan. My friend and I enjoyed the coffee at the Mr. Brown near MRT Daqiaotou Station (捷運大橋頭站). After the heavy rain, we walked to Jiayuxiang (佳裕香) for dinner nearby that evening.

The signatures were the maocai (冒菜) and liangpi (涼皮) at Jiayuxiang (佳裕香). They were both exotic dishes from China.

Jiayuxiang (佳裕香) was very popular with locals. The seats here were almost fully occupied. Luckily, we had our seats without queueing!

Besides dine-in customers, here were many takeout customers, too!

Besides its signatures, maocai (冒菜) and liangpi (涼皮), here were also Taiwan's common noodles, rice and soup!

We planned to order its signatures since we already arrived at Jiayuxiang (佳裕香). I ordered a bowl lamb maocai with wide glass noodles (羊肉冒菜配寬冬粉) at 100 TWD (= 3.4 USD). My friend ordered a bowl of pork maocai with rice noodles (豬肉冒菜配米粉) at 90 TWD (= 3.06 USD). We shared a bowl of spicy and numbing liangpi (麻辣涼皮) at 50 TWD (= 1.7 USD) with each other.

There was the introduction about maocai (冒菜). Maocai originated from Sichuan, China (中國四川), similar to the mini spicy and numbing hotpot.

Customers could get the tableware and sauce at the sauce corner.

Our side dish, spicy and numbing liangpi (麻辣涼皮), was firstly served! Liangpi came from Shaanxi, China (中國陝西).

Traditionally, the liangpi (涼皮) was based on the starch like wheat or mung bean flour. Its texture was a little springy!

The colde liangpi (涼皮) tasted very appetizing with the numbing and spicy sauce. It also had some aroma of sesame sauce. The liangpi (涼皮) here was heavenly!

Besides the liangpi (涼皮), there were some deep fried tofu in the bowl! The tofu was also great with the cold spicy and numbing sauce!

After a while, our maocai (冒菜) were served!

The maocai (冒菜) looked not only large but also various! The vegetables were many too!

The hot spicy and numbing soup tasted very good, but I sweated a lot due to the soup, especially in summer!

The wide glass noodles were al dente. Its portion was large! With the hot spicy and numbing soup, it tasted quite fantastic!

Except sliced lamb and vegetables, most of ingredients were under the glass noodles.

The deep fried tofu absorbed the soup very well! It tasted great with the flavor of soup!

There were also some squid, enoki mushrooms and bean sprouts in the soup!

Even the quail eggs were included! The food materials were so various!

After finishing the hot and spicy maocai (冒菜), I felt so satisfied but sweated a lot!

Besides the satisfying foods, the method of payment was also convenient for customers. Customers could pay by credit card via the mobile payment. The mobile payment included Taiwan's most common mobile payment, Line Pay and JKOPay!

Overall speaking, the maocai (冒菜) and liangpi (涼皮) at Jiayuxiang (佳裕香) are both quite delicious and unique exotic foods! For me, I prefer liangpi (涼皮) to maocai (冒菜) because it's more comfortable to have cold food than hot and spicy food in boiling hot summer!
