Cai's Herbal Ribs (財哥藥燉排骨), the Popular Restaurant Serving Herbal Ribs with Locals in Banqiao, New Taipei, Taiwan!
In the evening of Jan. 4, 2020, I rode a youbike along the riverside to MRT Xinpu Minsheng Station, Banqiao, New Taipei, Taiwan. Here was Cai's Herbal Ribs (財哥藥燉排骨), a very popular restaurant with local residents.
Here were indoor and outdoor seats.
I thought the environment here looked a little simple but still OK.
The restaurant served herbal ribs, pork knuckles and pork tails. A bowl of herbal soup cost me 70 TWD (= 2.32 USD).
Besides the herbal soup, it also served zongzi (肉粽) at 30 TWD (= 0.99 USD) each.
The sticky rice and pork in zongzi tasted very good with the thick soy sauce.
The herbal rib soup looked quite black but smelled good. Here were so many ribs in a herbal soup bowl.
I took some soy sauce and chili peppers to enjoy with the ribs.
The ribs had some herbal aroma. Each rib only contained a little meat, but it was easy to pull the pork from the rib bone.
With some soy sauce and chili peppers, the herbal ribs tasted great!
The soup of herbal ribs looked quite black in the bowl but clear in the spoon. It tasted mild and aromatic without any bitter taste,
That day a bowl of herbal rib soup and zongzi cost me totally TWD (= 3.32 USD) at Cai's Herbal Ribs (財哥藥燉排骨). Personally speaking, I was so full and satisfied!
