Zhixiangyuan(至香園), the Time-Honored Restaurant Serving the Delicious Shacha Beef Dry Noodles since 1960 in Taipei, Taiwan

On Oct. 21, 2017, I had a lunch with my friend near National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan at noon. We'd like to try the time-honored restaurant, Zhixiangyuan(至香園)! Although I had never noticed it before, I heard that it was a quite good restaurant recently.

I heard that the shacha beef dry noodles here was delectable, so I visited this restaurant with my friend. It seemed that it had been established since 1960!

Not surprisingly, we'd both like a small bowl of shacha beef dry noodles at 120 TWD (=3.97 USD). Additionally, we also ordered one side dish, marinated been curds, and one bowl of shrimp ball soup.

The marinated been curds tasted so juicy with the aroma of shacha. It was not only tasty but also special! Sprinkling the lemon pepper juice make it more delicious!

Finally our shacha beef dry noodles were served.  There were bean sprouts, peanut powder, sliced scallions and beef in a bowl! It looked so good!

I could smell the aroma of shacha mixed with peanut powder. Of course, sprinkling some lemon pepper juice made it more tasty!

Probably due to its style from Shantou, Guangdong, China, the shacha tasted a little lighter than the ordinary shacha in Taiwan. It smelled quite good but tasted not too salty!

The sliced beef on the noodles was not only smooth but also tender! I loved it so much!

What a shame the noodles here were a little soggy, but one flaw couldn't obscure the splendor of the jade! The shacha beef dry noodle was still worth my try!

But I probably ask the restaurant to serve firmer noodles if I visit Zhixiangyuan(至香園) next time!

Shrimp ball soup (40 TWD = 1.33 USD) @ Zhixiangyuan(至香園) in Taipei, Taiwan

The shrimp ball soup was seasoned with sprouts, not as the same as the common soup seasoned with sliced scallions or celery in Taiwan. But the soup here seemed too light for me. I'd like to recommend this to those who preferred light soup.

In conclusion, I consider that the shacha beef dry noodles here is really delectable. Although the noodles here are a little soggy, the aroma of its special shacha and the smooth and tender beef still make me impressive! Overall, I still recommend Zhixiangyuan(至香園) to you!
