Utsunomiya Minmin(宇都宮みんみん), the Popular Gyoza Restaurant in Utsunomitya, Japan's Gyoza City!

On Jun. 21, 2016, my friend and I drove the car we rented to Utsunomiya from Nikko in Tochigi, Japan! We came here for gyoza!

Utsunomiya is Japan's gyoza city. There are lots of gyoza restaurants in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, Japan. The residents here consume the most gyoza in Japan! Why they love gyoza so much? The reason is because of history. Following WWII, Japanese soldiers who returned from Manchuria brought home to Utsunomiya gyoza recipes which originated from China. Soon after, the soldiers began to open gyoza restaurants around Utsunomiya.

We visited Utsunomiya Minmin(宇都宮みんみん) that day. It was just located in front of JR Utsunomiya Station!

There were many people lining up at the entrance of Utsunomiya Minmin(宇都宮みんみん). It took us roughly half an hour to queue.

I ordered 3 kinds of gyoza--pan-fried gyoza, deep fried gyoza and boiled gyoza. There were 6 gyoza on each plate. Each plate cost me JPY 248(USD 2.17) including tax. It seemed not expensive in Japan!

Although all of them tasted not bad, I loved the pan-fried gyoza here the most!

I think it's worth you try when visiting Japan's gyoza city, Utsunomiya!
