Renwu Roast Duck (仁武烤鴨), Serving the Crispy and Scrumptious Roast Duck in Renwu, Kaohsiung, Taiwan!

On Sep. 27, 2020, the 5th day of the journey when my friend and I travelled around Taiwan by public bike and railway, we rode Kaohsiung's public bikes, Youbikes, to Renwu, Kaohsiung from Downtown Kaohsiung for lunch. We were going to the very famous restaurant, Renwu Roast Duck (仁武烤鴨).

We could see the large signboard and long queueing from a distance.

We could only choose to join the long line!

During the queueing period, besides the mobile game, FGO, we could just watch the employees make the pancakes (荷葉餅) and slice the roast duck to kill time.

Although the employees here encouraged customers to take out because takeout roast duck could be soon served, we didn't have an idea about some places to enjoy the roast duck. We decided to keep waiting here and having hope.

After one-hour queueing, we eventually had our seats.

But our seats were in the corridor, not the indoor dining area. The well-ventilated corridor was still acceptable for us.

We quickly placed our orders after we took the seats. We ordered a roast whole duck with pancakes at 520 TWD (= 18.06 USD) and 2 bowls of rice at 10 TWD (= 0.35 USD) per bowl.

The pancakes, sweet bean sauce and scallions were served at first.

Next, the main course, sliced roast duck, appeared on our table!

The roast duck slices were large and thick at Renwu Roast Duck (仁武烤鴨)!

Although the roast duck slices looked quite thick, their texture was pretty tender and juicy. They stroke a perfect equilibrium between the meat and fat!

The roast duck skin was strongly amazing to us! The duck skin here tasted not only crispy but also mouth-watering!

We also put the juicy roast duck slice, sweet bean sauce with caramel aroma and fresh scallions onto the hot and fresh-baked pancake. The combination was also strongly recommended!

Besides the crispy roast duck slices, the roast duck set included the fried duck bones.

Some duck meats were still attached to the duck bones. With the spices like basil, scallions and garlics and the salty and sweet sauce, we couldn't help but enjoy the duck bones one bite after another!

The only disadvantage that day was the rice! The texture of rice was too soft like paste! I planned to enjoy the the fried duck bones with the rice, but it really disappointed me.

After finishing the fantastic and king-sized roast whole duck, we resumed to travel around Taiwan. We rode the public bikes, Youbikes, to Jiuqutang Station (九曲堂車站), Kaohsiung and then got on the train to our destination that day, Downtown Pingtung!
