Sep. 25, 2020 was the 3rd day of the journey when my friend and I travelled around Taiwan by public bike and railway. We rode the public bikes, Youbikes, to Chuang's Gua Bao (小莊刈包店) near Wuquan Station (五權車站), Taichung from Taichung Station (台中車站), Taichung. We planned to enjoy our breakfast here!
I simply ordered the gua bao with an egg and meigan cai (梅干菜蛋刈包) at 55 TWD (= 1.92 USD). Moreover, I ordered a cup of pumpkin soy milk (南瓜豆漿) at 40 TWD (= 1.4 USD).
Besides the cash, the credit cards were also acceptable via the mobile payment, Taiwan Pay! It was very convenient for customers!
The meals here were mostly freshly made, so waiting was necessary!
The pumpkin soy milk was freshly made of soy milk and pumpkin after we placed our orders. The taste of the combination of soy milk and pumpkin was not bad!
The fatness of stewed pork could be customized! I chose the moderate stewed pork. The stewed pork marinated in the black soybean sauce tasted moderately salty and slightly sweet. It was good-smelling and mouth-watering. The stewed pork looked beautifully red due to the red yeast!
The runniess of egg yolk could also be customized. I chose the runny egg! The good-smelling stewed pork and hot gua bao bun with the runny egg were very satisfying to me!
The runny egg and stewed pork were put into the handmade gua bao bun. With the seasonings, sweet and sour meigan cai (梅干菜), peanut powder and coriander, the gua bao (刈包) was the impeccable breakfast!
After finishing the heavenly gua bao (刈包), we resumed our journey around Taiwan. We rode the public bikes, Youbikes, to Downtown Changhua from Wuquan Station (五權車站), Taichung!
