Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線), the Time-Honor Restaurant in Xinzhuang, New Taipei, Taiwan since 1985


At the noon of Aug. 14, 2020, my relatives and I had lunch together in Xinzhuang, New Taipei, Taiwan. The restaurant we visited that day was Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線).


Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線) had established since 1985. At first, it was located near the post office, and then it moved to the current location. The nearest MRT station was MRT Danfeng Station (捷運丹鳳站).


The dine-in and take-out customers both had to place their orders at the entrance of Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線).


I ordered its signature, BIG 4 vermicelli (招牌大四喜麵線), at 140 TWD (= 4.76 USD). Additionally, we ordered the small bowl of mixed vermicelli with neritic squids (綜合麵線加小卷) at 95 TWD (= 3.23 USD) and the ba-wan (肉圓) at 40 TWD (= 1.36 USD).


After we had our seats, our meals were soon served!


The ba-wan (肉圓) was topped with some minced parsley. The springy outside and fully-stuffed inside ba-wan (肉圓) with the special sauce tasted so great!


Compared with the mixed vermicelli with neritic squids (綜合麵線加小卷), the BIG 4 vermicelli (招牌大四喜) had the unique food material, shrimps.


The toppings of BIG 4 vermicelli were the shrimps (蝦子), neritic squids (小卷), oysters (蚵仔) and pig intestines (豬大腸).


Here were some sauces on the table. I chose the chili oil and mashed garlics because I always preferred the spicy food!


The broth of vermicelli had the rich bonito aroma at Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線). The soup tasted light and not too sticky. With the chili oil, the soup tasted even better!


Of the 4 toppings on the vermicelli, my favorite was the fresh and delicious shrimps! The shrimps were slightly firm and springy!


The neritic squids (小卷) were also very good! There were 4 neritic squids in my bowl.


The oysters were fresh and full of sea aroma!


The pig intestines were deeply marinated. It was not gamy at all, and its texture was also springy. They were so great with the vermicelli soup!


Personally speaking, the BIG 4 vermicelli soup not only looks very luxurious but also tastes mouth-watering and fresh at Dingyu Oyster Vermicelli (鼎昱蚵仔麵線). It's absolutely worth your try!

But its portion is too large for me! I suggest you guys share the vermicelli soup with accompanying friends and order some side dishes like ba-wan!
