In the evening of Jun. 19, 2019, my friends and I met at MRT Taipower Building Station, Taipei, Taiwan. We'd like to have ramen for dinner, so our final decision was the branch of G2 Ramen (雞二拉麵) here.
Its dining area was on its 2nd floor. Actually it took 40 minutes to wait for our seats. But we all played the mobile game then, so the waiting period was nothing for us.
After we had our seats, we just handed over our ramen ticket bought on its 1st floor to the cooks.
There were just 3 different kinds of bowls. From left to right, the bowls were for large, small, extra small ramen.
That day I ordered small bowl of soy sauce ramen at 189 TWD (= 6.09 USD). The portion in the small bowl really shocked me so much!
There were 3 very large and thick slices of sous vide pork. Its edge was tight with pepper aroma; its center was so tender! The sliced pork tasted so refreshing!
The egg yolk looked so yellow and mouth-watering!
Compared with common ramen, here were lots of cabbages and bean sprouts topped on the noodles!
The vegetables were so crispy and fresh! They were so matched with the pork fatback and garlic! The combination was not too oily or plain.
That day I chose its thin noodles here. Although it said "thin" noodles, the noodles here was still thicker than at other ramen restaurants. The noodles here were quite al dente! Its portion was also so enough! I loved its noodles so much!
Its soup based on chicken and pork bone broth was pretty matched with oily fatback, garlic and fresh vegetables. The combination gustatorily stroke a perfect balance! The smooth and delicious soup really amazed me!
Personally speaking, although the jirorian ramen at G2 Ramen (雞二拉麵) looked so unrefined, the combination of everything was bold, tasty and refreshing! Additionally, the prices here were very affordable! It was a quite excellent option for ramen lovers!
