啟定皇陵,法式與越式建築完美結合 (越南順化))
On Dec. 13, 2016, the 3rd day of
our trip to Vietnam, my travel buddy and I joined the local tour, HUE CITY TOUR BOAT AND BUS, which we bought for VND 259,000 (= USD 11.5) at
The Sinh Tourist the previous day. Our tour included 3 emperors' tomb. Tomb of Khai Dinh was the 2nd emperor's tomb we visited that day.
*The Sinh Tourist is not the only travel agent in Vietnam. You can try others. The reason why I bought my tour at The Sinh Tourist was that it was the only one I could get quotes from by google!

The entrance of Tomb of Khai Dinh
|
The entry ticket was not included in our tour. We paid additional VND 360,000 (USD 16) for the combo ticket (for Hue Imperial City, Tomb of Khai Dinh, Tomb of Minh Mang and Tomb of Tu Duc).
At its entrance, we saw the magnificent stone dragons on the stairs. They looked like living animals and being sprinting toward us! In the Far East, dragons were the symbol which only the emperors could use without any restriction.

The pavilion |

The statues of civil and military officials |
We went upstairs and saw a pavilion and the statues of civil and military officials. It had been raining during the period we visited Hue. I wish it had stopped raining and I had taken better photos.

Emperor Khai Dinh |
Vietnam had been colonized by France since the late 19th century. The Occident and Oriental culture met each other here and were mixed to become the unique culture!
That's the reason why the style of Tomb of Khai Dinh differs from Tomb of Minh Mang and Tomb of Tu Duc. I think Tomb of Khai Dinh is one of the exquisite by-products of France's colonization.
After our short visit, We were going to next attraction, Tomb of Tu Duc!
