Wakamatsuya (若松屋), the Famous Time-Honored Restaurant for Its Grilled Eels Est. 1860 in Yanagawa, Fukuoka, Japan!

On Sep. 15, 2018, after visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu, Fukuoka, Japan, my friends and I continued to head to Yanagawa, Fukuoka for dinner.

We were going to enjoy our dinner at Wakamatsuya (若松屋) est. 1860!

The Japanese Garden of Wakamatsuya (若松屋) was not only silent but also charming.

Because we were 6 adults, we had our seats in the private room.

Of course, the signature of Wakamatsuya in Yanagawa was 鰻せいろ蒸し(Unagi Seiromushi, the steamed grilled Japanese eels on the rice in a bamboo steamer)!

There were menus in English and Japanese respectively.

Each of us ordered one Unagi Seiromushi! I ordered the Unagi Seiromushi with 4 slices of grill eela at 3,365 JPY (= 29.95 USD). Additionally, We ordered extra 3 Umaki (omelet with grilled eels).

After finished ordering, we just took some rest, chatted and drank some hot tea. The surroundings here were too comfortable to notice time flies.

After a long while, the meals we were all looking forward to was coming!

They looked not only luxurious but also mouth-watering!

There was some shredded egg on the Unagi Seiromushi (鰻せいろ蒸し)!

The aroma of grilled eels (unagi) was hard to resist. The eels with ample amount of fat and the fluffy shredded egg was dipped with its homemade sauce reaching to the golden ratio between salty and sweet taste. Plus, the Japanese rice steamed together with the sauce. Every bite of it was exactly in heavens.

Umaki, the other main character on the table that day, was also hard to neglect! The fragrant grilled eels were wrapped by The fluffy tamagoyaki. The texture and taste were both exactly impeccable!

After enjoying the bountiful Unagi Seiromushi and Umaki, I had the eel liver soup.

The soup was exact the rest of the touching symphony of unagi!

The cuisine here was satisfying, and the environment here was also. There was a Japanese rock garden (枯山水, Karesansui) at the center of Wakamatsuya (若松屋)!

After enjoying the feast of unagi, we left for Candeo Hotels Kikuyo Kumamoto Airport, the hotel we were going to stay at from the silent Yanagawa.
